Mesa County District Attorney Dan Rubinstein wants $1.3 million more in his budget to keep up with growing numbers of felonies, but for the moment, he can live with a $300,000 boost. Sheriff Matt Lewis wants an additional $3.4 million per year to put more deputies on the street and in the jail, but he can live with less for now, though not for long.
