Mesa County prosecutors said today that there's evidence the Tennessee man arrested along Interstate 70 Thursday night for allegedly kidnapping his 2-year-old daughter brought the girl to Mexico at some point before being captured in Colorado. Prosecutors arguing bond for Michael Wilson, 35, of Cleveland, Tennessee, told the court that their communications with law enforcement in Tennessee indicate Wilson went to Mexico, presumably with the girl, 2-year-old Skyla Wilson, sometime between Aug. 5 and Aug 6. Previous charges of custodial interference, connected with the girl's disappearance, have been upgraded to aggravated kidnapping in the case, Chief Deputy District Attorney Trish Mahre told the court.
