On gun rights and economic development, four candidates for two seats on the Mesa County Board of Commissioners agreed that the first needs to be protected, and the second developed. Democrats Mel Mulder of Fruita and David Edwards of Palisade said voters should be allowed to vote on whether they want retail marijuana to be sold in the county, while the two Republican incumbents, John Justman and Rose Pugliese, said it shouldn't be sold, at a debate Wednesday sponsored by the Associated Members for Growth and Development.
