Micah Schmidt, 26, left, and Sarah Collison, 25, both of Grand Junction, have been identified as the people who died after their car crashed into the Government Highline Canal at 25 Road on June 24. Two people who drowned after their car crashed into a canal on June 24 have been identified as Grand Junction residents Micah Schmidt and Sarah Collison. Schmidt, 26, was driving the 2012 Chevy Cruze that ended up partially submerged in the Government Highline Canal near the intersection of J Road and 25 Road.
