A 31-year-old Grand Junction man accused of beating a woman before leveling a handgun at her parents in full view of sheriff's deputies is facing criminal charges. Brian Calkins was arrested Thursday in the 400 block of Chiswick Way when Mesa County sheriff's deputies responding to a reported assault saw him in the front door, pointing a gun at a man and woman who were on the sidewalk, according to an arrest affidavit.
