An inmate at the Mesa County Jail was advised of possible second-degree assault charges Tuesday, after allegedly assaulting another inmate who handed him a tray of food. According to an arrest affidavit for Brenden Wederath, 20, another inmate who claimed to not know Wederath said he was handing out lunch trays and was subsequently struck in the face by Wederath after handing him one.
