A man serving a sentence for murder in Idaho was advised Monday in Mesa County on nearly 20-year-old allegations involving a robbery at a Grand Junction gas station, where a clerk was shot in the head. Richard James Klipfel, 48, was ordered by County Judge Gretchen Larson held on $250,000 bond for a warrant listing counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor theft.
