Taking aim at a defense claim, Mesa County prosecutors on Tuesday tried to shred suggestions of a potentially compromised crime scene in Jacie Taylor's 1994 murder. Steve Stogsdill, former Mesa County Sheriff's Office investigator who worked in a lead role during the initial investigation of Taylor's murder, testified that a uniformed Palisade police officer was stationed outside of 855 Inness Court, Unit 2, from the time shortly after Taylor's body was discovered in an overflowing bathtub on the morning of June 4, 1994.
