A man who authorities suspect was under the influence of drugs when he crashed a speeding Ford Explorer into a Grand Valley Transit bus - tipping the bus over and seriously injuring three riders - was ordered held Tuesday at the Mesa County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash following his arrest on Monday. Ryan Thompson, 21, was estimated by one witness to be driving between 70 mph and 75 mph headed south on 28 1/4 Road at Orchard Avenue on the morning of May 20 when Thompson's Ford Explorer smashed broadside into the GVT bus moving through the intersection, causing it to roll on its side, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
