Construction along 38 Road between Palisade and East Orchard Mesa has been underway since December and should be done by the end of May. When it's finished, the new road will be much safer, with wider lanes, a shoulder and a 10-foot curbed and paved pedestrian pathway on the side. A second informational kiosk for the Fruit and Wine Byway in Palisade was recently celebrated by supporters, sponsors, workers and other Palisade personalities who had gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony, which turned out to be a topping off ceremony, since the mild winter weather allowed the town of Palisade to get the kiosk done ahead of schedule.
