Kelly Detlefsen will take over for Lisa Whitmore as principal of Cactus Valley Elementary in Silt, and Jeena Williams will replace Lacey Moser as principal of Riverside Middle School in New Castle this summer, according to a press release sent Friday by the district. Detlefsen's experience with Garfield Re-2 and nearby Roaring Fork School District includes teaching jobs in social studies, art and English language arts and serving as an instructional coach at Riverside Middle School and Cactus Valley Elementary, where she has worked as an instructional coach since last year.
